Description of the tour:
The Transfagarasan Road, according to Top Gear, is hidden in a valley between 2.200m high mountains and is the "greatest road in the world." Let's go on a once-in-a-lifetime driving adventure! You may enjoy amazing views of Transylvania and the Fagaras Mountains from the top of Balea Lake!
Monastery of Curtea de Arges - The construction of this magnificent Byzantine monastery with Moorish (Arab) influences began in 1514 on the site of a church built by the Wallachian prince Vlad Dracul (father of Vlad the Impaler) that had been devastated 50 years before by a violent earthquake. Its construction was beset by difficulties, giving rise to numerous stories, including one that became a Romanian proverb - about Manole's wife.
Lake and Dam of Vidraru - We stop at Vidraru Dam on our approach to the Transfagarasan Highway to observe the magnificent sights of Romanian nature!
Highway Transfagarasan - This wonderful route between the mountains has its own story: it was created for a specific reason under the communist dictatorship, utilizing dynamite and other resources.
